Cluden Park Launches 2022 Winter Racing Carnival
Cluden Park is ready to build on the success of 2021 to deliver a bigger and better Winter Racing Carnival in 2022.
Townsville’s race goers, socialites, and fashion visionaries are once more being encouraged to ‘Treasure the Triumph.'
The 2022 edition starts with the revamped Lawrence & Hanson 2YO Classic on 11 June, before the three-month carnival continues with the Family Fun Day (5 July), Ray White Townsville Ladies Day (30 July), TAB Guineas Race Day (4 August) and culminating in the TAB Townsville Cup (6 August).
Popular events, Breakfast with the Stars, TAB Townsville Cup Calcutta, and the TAB Townsville Cup and Cleveland Bay Handicap barrier draws are also returning.
The 2022 Winter Racing Carnival will mostly go unchanged besides the decision to separate the 2YO Classic and family race days.
The biggest contest in North Queensland for two-year-old thoroughbreds has been reimagined as Cluden Park places the emphasis back on the day’s namesake race, the 2YO Classic, which boasts $100,000 in total prize money.
Cluden Park also welcomes new naming rights sponsors for the event, Lawrence & Hanson.
With the launch of the 2022 Winter Racing Carnival, Cluden Park also announces that tickets to the Lawrence & Hanson 2YO Classic will go on sale to the public at 12pm, Thursday 28 April, 2022.
Tickets to the remaining race days will become available throughout the month of May.
