Townsville Turf Club has a proud history of premier horse racing, with the first race meeting held in 1874. Today, the club hosts more than 30 race meetings each year, all nationally and internationally broadcast through SKY Racing.

As one of Australia’s leading provincial race clubs, Townsville Turf Club hosts major events including the Townsville Cup, North Queensland Amateur Raceday and the Pallarenda Stakes, attracting top racing talent to the region each year.

With more than 100 horses training on-site, 86 licensed trainers and over 830 owners in the region, Townsville Turf Club remains a key hub for horse racing in North Queensland.
