Terms and Conditions

FASHIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Eligibility & Entry:

1. Entry is open to individuals of all genders and ages, as specified per competition category.
2. Entrants must register prior to the commencement of judging. Late entries may not be accepted.
3. Contestants and/or their outfits are not permitted to commercially promote a brand, store, or designer or receive a commercial benefit from appearing in the competition.
4. Contestants must not receive any payment or benefit from a third party (including any commercial enterprise) for entering, participating in, or otherwise in connection with this competition.

Conduct & Disqualification:

1. Contestants must not in any way disparage or make derogatory comments in any form (whether verbally, electronically, or otherwise) about the Promoter or judges, any competition associated with Fashions on the Field, or other contestants at any time. 
2. If a contestant breaches any of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may (at its absolute discretion) disqualify the contestant from this or any other Fashions on the Field competition.

Judging:

1. All decisions made by the judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
2. Entries will be judged based on published category criteria, including but not limited to style, originality, grooming, presentation, and adherence to the event theme or dress code. 
3. In the event of a tie or dispute, the final decision rests with the head judge or event organiser.

Prizes:

1. Prize(s) awarded to a contestant remain the property of the contestant. 
2. Committee members, staff, and immediate family of Cluden Park are not eligible to participate. 
3. All winners and runners-up will be notified on the day. 
4. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
5. Travel and accommodation prizes are subject to terms and conditions.
6. Winners must collect their FOTF prizes on the day they are awarded or arrange for collection from the Cluden Park Racecourse Administration office (Racecourse Road, Cluden, Townsville) within 7 working days. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the prize. 
7. The event organiser accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value or for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

Photography & Promotion:

1. Contestants agree that their competition photos may be used for promotional materials at any time in the future.
2. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition, categories, or judging process at any time without prior notice. 
3. The organiser will not be held liable for any loss, injury, or damage sustained by entrants during the competition.

FASHIONS SERIES TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Fashions on the Field Fashion Series ("the Series") is a multi-event style competition hosted by Cluden Park.
2. Winners from select categories at participating race days will qualify to compete in the Series Final for the title of Fashion Series Winner – Face of the Races.

Eligibility & Progression: 

1. Entry into individual race day competitions is open to all participants who meet the eligibility requirements for each category.
2. Only 1st place winners of the Classic Lady and Contemporary Lady categories from each qualifying event will be eligible to progress to the Fashion Series Final.
3. Finalists must be available to attend the Series Final event on 9th August 2025 at Cluden Park. If a finalist is unable to attend, a runner-up may be offered the place at the organiser’s discretion.

Qualifying Events:

1. The Series will include the following qualifying race days:

• Lawrence & Hanson 2YO Classic  – 7th June 2025
• Ladbrokes Ladies Day – 2nd August 2025
• Ladbrokes Townsville Cup – 9th August 2025

1. One winner from each eligible category at each event will secure a place in the Fashion Series Final.
2. In addition to the qualifying race day events, a Digital Fashion Competition will be held during June and July, offering an additional opportunity for entrants to qualify for the Fashion Series Final.
3. Two winners will be selected from the Digital Competition.

Final Judging: 

1. The final will be held on 9th August 2025, with full details to be provided to all qualifying finalists.
2. Finalists will be judged on their overall presentation, originality, racewear appropriateness, grooming, and confidence.
3. Finalists must wear the same outfit worn during their qualifying win.
4. Judging panels will be appointed by the event organiser for each race day and the Series Final.
5. All judging decisions are final. No correspondence or disputes will be entered into.
6. The Series Final will determine one Fashion Series Winner, selected from the pool of finalists.

Participation Rules: 

• Entrants who qualify for the Fashion Series Final by winning the Classic or Contemporary category at a participating race day or through the Digital Competition are still eligible to enter future qualifying events within the same Series.
• However, if a previously qualified entrant wins a qualifying category again at a subsequent race day, the runner-up from that event will be awarded the qualifying position for the Fashion Series Final.
• Qualified entrants are required to wear the original outfit they qualified in when competing in the Fashion Series Final. Minor alterations or adjustments for fit or comfort are permitted, but the overall look must remain the same.
• This rule allows entrants to continue enjoying the race day competitions while ensuring that the Series Final features a diverse group of finalists.

 

PHOTO AND FILM CONSENT

By entering this competition, participants agree to the following:

1. Cluden Park, its employees, officers, agents, and contractors may create images or recordings (including sound or video) of me ("Images and Recordings").
2.  These Images and Recordings may be used, published, or reproduced in any form (in whole or in part) and by any medium for promotional purposes, including but not limited to newspapers, magazines, websites, brochures, and social media.
3. These rights are granted perpetually, and no payment or royalty will be made to the participant.
4. Cluden Park may collect, store, and use personal information about me, including but not limited to my name, contact details, and image, in connection with promotional material.
5. I release Cluden Park from any claims, liability, or damages that may arise from the use of the Images and Recordings.
6. I acknowledge that Cluden Park owns all copyright in the Images and Recordings.
