Classic

Defined by timeless and elegant styles, the Classic category emphasises traditional racewear attire. Presenting structured silhouettes, appropriate lengths, and modest décolletage. Accessories like gloves, classic bags, and shoes are also hallmarks of this style defining 1900’s racewear origins. 

Our Guidelines:

Elegance and Sophistication - The outfit should embody timeless style, grace, and femininity with a refined silhouette.

Racewear Appropriateness - Adheres to traditional racewear etiquette - modest hemline, appropriate neckline, covered midriff and daywear styling

Cohesion of the Look - All elements—including dress, headwear, closed-toe shoes, accessories, and handbag—should be well-coordinated and create a harmonious, polished ensemble.

Headwear - A hat or headpiece is essential and should complement the outfit in both style and proportion.

Grooming and Presentation - Hair, makeup, and overall presentation should enhance the outfit and reflect attention to detail.

The trendy and fashion-forward Contemporary category features bold colours, prints and patterns, with a fresh modern appeal on racewear style. Avant-garde footwear, large embellished accessories, and unusual takes on fabrication and materials. 

Modern Styling - Outfit reflects current fashion trends while maintaining a polished and racewear-appropriate appearance.

Innovation and Creativity - Bold choices in silhouette, colour, fabric, or accessories that showcase originality and a forward-thinking fashion sense.

Cohesion of the Look - All elements (clothing, headwear, shoes, handbag, and accessories) are well-coordinated and create a stylish, unified ensemble.

Overall Styling and Cohesion - The outfit should be well-coordinated from head to toe, with attention to how all elements (suit, shirt, tie, shoes, and accessories) work together.

Fit and Tailoring - Garments should be well-fitted and tailored to complement the contestant’s physique, reflecting sharp, clean lines and good structure.

Originality and Personal Style - The outfit should reflect the contestant’s individual style while maintaining classic or contemporary racewear etiquette.

Appropriateness for Racewear - The look should align with traditional or modern racewear standards—daywear styling, no overly casual elements (e.g., no jeans, sneakers, or t-shirts).

Present a coordinated yet individually outstanding outfit, showcasing modern trends and appropriate for the Winter Racing Theme. No matter your relationship, all types of pairs are eligible to enter the Best Dressed Duo Category. 

Coordination and Cohesion - Outfits should complement each other in style, colour, or theme while allowing each individual’s look to shine.

Creativity and Interpretation - Originality in how the duo presents their look—whether classic, modern, playful, or themed—is encouraged and celebrated.

Connection and Chemistry - The duo should present a strong visual and personal connection—how they engage with each other on stage adds to the overall impact.

Attention to Detail - Accessories, grooming, and finishing touches (e.g., hats, shoes, bags, ties, jewellery) should enhance the overall outfits and demonstrate thoughtful styling.

Design and Structure - The shape, form, and balance of the piece should be visually striking and well-engineered, with a flattering fit on the wearer.

Suitability and Wearability - The headpiece should be practical to wear (secure and comfortable), and appropriate for a race day setting.
